The concept of a decorative jeweled egg has become virtually synonymous with the name Faberge. The celebrated egg-charms, Peter Carl Faberge's most popular creations, were passionately collected by the ladies of high society. Such pendants were proudly added to chains of ever-growing length each Easter. Their fame resides not only in the exclusive clientele for which they were destined, but also in their exquisite beauty. In essence such eggs symbolize life, rebirth, and love. The most famous of the Faberge eggs are the collection given by Tsar Alexander to his wife Maria Fedorovna. The first one was produced in 1885. The charm and stylishness of these beautiful pieces has never gone out of style, and the look has been emulated ever since.

The term Guilloche refers to a decorative technique in which a concentric design is engraved on metal using a lathe, creating an elaborate pattern. A clear translucent enamel is applied over the top, enhancing and smoothing the surface. This method was made popular by the same Carl Faberge, a master of this beautiful, mesmerizing style.

Though not Faberge, these darling egg charms will be sure to capture your imagination just as easily! Crafted in Vermeil, or gold over silver, they have beautiful, brightly saturated guilloche enameling in two color schemes. One has been decorated in blue and green, with gold granulation and a floral motif. The other is enameled with segmented green and gold and accented with art glass cabochons. Perfect on your charm bracelet, paired with other pendants on a 'neck mess', or simply worn on their own with a simple silk ribbon!
