Cocktail rings became popular during the Prohibition Era, in the 1920s. Worn as a luxurious rebellion, women would deck themselves out, showing off large sparkling gems while they sipped their drinks at the speakeasy and parties where Prohibition was ignored. The showy gems ebbed in popularity during World War II, but came back with a bang around the middle of the 20th century, when cocktail parties took off once again, and the "Statement Ring", or "Cocktail Ring" has been going strong ever since!
A cool green cabochon emerald stone peeks out from the center of a diamond encrusted frame in this mid-century cocktail ring. Perfect for the modern lady who loves to dress up, it will be sure to take center stage at your next ball (or Rage)!
