SOLD Antique French 18K, Silver & Diamond Daisy Brooch

This wonderful, whimsical early nineteenth century brooch will have you waltzing around town all day! French in origin, it is crafted in 18 karat yellow gold, with silver backed rose cut diamonds creating 18 petals, each set with four diamonds. The center diamond is approximately 2 carats and is haloed by 17 glittering diamonds representing stamen. The fastener is a steeply curved pin with a trombone clasp. Originally, it was most likely a transformable piece, with a removable pin mechanism and a hair pin attachment as well as a folding bale. Somewhere in time, the accoutrements must have become separated, and a fixed pin and clasp were added. A beautiful addition to any jewelry collection!
