Cocktail rings became popular during the Prohibition Era, in the 1920s. Worn as a luxurious rebellion, women would deck themselves out,  showing off large sparkling gems while they sipped their drinks at the speakeasy and parties where Prohibition was ignored. The showy gems ebbed in popularity during World War II, but came back with a bang around the middle of the 20th century, when cocktail parties took off once again, and the "Statement Ring", or "Cocktail Ring" has been going strong ever since!

This ring, crafted in 14K yellow gold, features a bright, hot pink Marquise cut ruby with a stylized surround inlaid with 24 more Marquise cut rubies and 18 round brilliant cut diamonds. This style is often referred to as a 'waterfall', as the gems seem to be cascading from the ring face. Harkening back to the days of Mid-Century Vegas shows, it reminds us of the famous Fan Dancer, Sally Rand. Wonderfully dramatic and playful, it will be your go-to ring for all the cocktail parties this year!
