SOLD Vintage 18K, Diamond & Emerald Cocktail Ring

Cocktail rings became popular during the Prohibition Era, in the 1920s. Worn as a luxurious rebellion, women would deck themselves out,  showing off large sparkling gems while they sipped their drinks at the speakeasy and parties where Prohibition was ignored. The showy gems ebbed in popularity during World War II, but came back with a bang around the middle of the 20th century, when cocktail parties took off once again, and the "Statement Ring", or "Cocktail Ring" has been going strong ever since! 

This unique round faced ring has a slightly domed top, elevating the central emerald for all to see! Square cut accent emeralds border and dissect, creating perfect wedges for diamonds to pack themselves in snugly. A truly scrumptious confection you'll want to flash around at all the parties in your datebook!
