Cocktail rings became popular during the Prohibition Era, in the 1920s. Worn as a luxurious rebellion, women would deck themselves out, showing off large sparkling gems while they sipped their drinks at the speakeasy and parties where Prohibition was ignored. The showy gems ebbed in popularity during World War II, but came back with a bang around the middle of the 20th century, when cocktail parties took off once again, and the "Statement Ring", or "Cocktail Ring" has been going strong ever since!
This beautiful opal cocktail ring is set in 14 karat rose gold with black rhodium accents, giving a dramatic shift of light to the white and chocolate diamonds on the face of the ring. The large translucent opal has a color spectrum of white with green, blue and orange sparks within its depths. A breathtaking piece, it will cause a sensation every time you wear it!
