Vintage 14K & Amethyst Cocktail Ring

Cocktail rings became popular during the Prohibition Era, in the 1920s. Worn as a luxurious rebellion, women would deck themselves out,  showing off large sparkling gems while they sipped their drinks at the speakeasy and parties where Prohibition was ignored. The showy gems ebbed in popularity during World War II, but came back with a bang around the middle of the 20th century, when cocktail parties took off once again, and the "Statement Ring", or "Cocktail Ring" has been going strong ever since! 

A large emerald cut amethyst is beautifully framed in 14 karat yellow gold with a scalloped basket and two leafy posies at her shoulders. Bold and provocative, with a very feminine touch, she will capture all the attention at your next social engagement!

Purple Passion Cocktail

Combine in cocktail shaker with ice: 2 oz. vodka, 2 oz. grapefruit juice, 2 oz. cranberry juice, dash of grenadine. Garnish with lime. Cheers!
