The era we now know as “Art Deco” received its moniker from the Exposition International des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes, held in Paris in 1925, which was largely dedicated to the jewelry arts. Emphasis was placed on the association of art and modern industry.
A popular design of this period was the "Bullseye" or "Target" ring, with interspersed gems set in the formation of an archer's target. This large beauty has been set in platinum, a nod to Victorian jewelers, who set diamonds in silver to accentuate their clarity and cool white tone. Seven icy old mine cut diamonds are ringed in 22 bright pink square step cut rubies, creating a large sparkling target to feast your eyes on! The 18 karat shank is made of yellow gold, a departure from the typical target ring, and boasts lovely filigree work on the top, as well as smooth, tapering shoulders. A beautifully crafted ring from a marvelous era, this perfect mademoiselle is one to set your sights on!
