The era we now know as “Art Deco” received its moniker from the Exposition International des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes, held in Paris in 1925, which was largely dedicated to the jewelry arts. Emphasis was placed on the association of art and modern industry. The style was also utilized in architecture, where rectangular blocky forms were often arranged in a geometric fashion, then broken up by curved ornamental elements. But always the aim was a monolithic appearance with applied decorative motifs. It was especially successful in apartment buildings and skyscrapers.
This wonderful Art Deco ring is crafted in gleaming platinum, with an 18 karat yellow gold shank. A modified hexagon, the ring top is comprised of two deep blue sapphires with a diamond in the center. Ringed in eighteen diamonds, it is put together almost like a fancy jigsaw puzzle! Two more diamonds glitter from the shoulders, making a classic Art Deco masterpiece you'll treasure in your collection!
