The era we now know as “Art Deco” received its moniker from the Exposition International des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes, held in Paris in 1925, which was largely dedicated to the jewelry arts. Emphasis was placed on the association of art and modern industry.

In 1917, David Belais of Belais Brothers submitted his special formula of white gold; the patent was applied for in October of 1918, and approved in 1920. The Belais alloy became so popular, that during the 1920s, white gold was sometimes referred to as “Belais metal".

This ocular shaped ring, a glittering eye gazing from a 14 karat white gold shank, is fashioned in the Art Deco sensibility, with a segmented, architectural ring face showcasing a central Old European Cut diamond of .25 carats, and six round brilliant cut diamonds with an approximate carat weight of .25. Wear this beauty, and everyone will be staring at your hand, only to receive a wink from this gorgeous diamond peeper!
