Antique Silver, Hand Painted Enamel & Seed Pearl Earrings & Pendant Set

 Hand painted miniature portraits were the predecessors of photographs. When there was no other way to record a likeness of someone, the miniatures were treasured and passed down in families. Some portrait miniatures were painted of a specific person, and others were of classic style beauties rather than a particular real person. Often, these pieces were made into jewelry and worn as decoration, such as our set. Upper class Victorians loved romantic pastoral scenes, and this is a perfect example!

The same scene has been painted on all three pieces: a lovely blond damsel posing demurely among the blossoms and trees, while coquettishly exposing her finely turned ankles! Both the earrings and the pendant have locket backs, perfect for a lock of hair or a pressed flower. Beautifully painted and wonderfully intact, she is opulently set in silver and accented with a plethora of tiny seed pearls. Get dressed up, do your hair, put this set on, and you will have everyone positively swooning!
