Cocktail rings became popular during the Prohibition Era, in the 1920s. Worn as a luxurious rebellion, women would deck themselves out,  showing off large sparkling gems while they sipped their drinks at the speakeasy and parties where Prohibition was ignored. The showy gems ebbed in popularity during World War II, but came back with a bang around the middle of the 20th century, when cocktail parties took off once again, and the "Statement Ring", or "Cocktail Ring" has been going strong ever since!

Brazilian emeralds turned up on the European market during the early 1800s. At first considered inferior to Columbian emeralds, they soon gained popularity amongst jewelry collectors. What truly sets Brazilian emeralds apart is their unique color profile. These gems often range from a vivid, vibrant green to lush greens with subtle blue undertones — a signature hue that’s distinctly Brazilian. Unlike emeralds from other sources, which may lean more toward pale, deeply saturated, or overtly blue tones, Brazilian emeralds strike a rare balance of brightness, depth, and color that reflects their singular origin.

This fabulous cocktail ring boasts an enormous Brazilian emerald weighing in at approximately 22.47 carats! Haloed in glittering diamonds and set in cool platinum, it will make you the talk of the town, the bee's knees, and the 'It Girl' all at once!
