Antique German 14K, Opal & Garnet Cocktail Ring
Couldn't load pickup availability
Cocktail rings became popular during the Prohibition Era, in the 1920s. Worn as a luxurious rebellion, women would deck themselves out, showing off large sparkling gems while they sipped their drinks at the speakeasy and parties where Prohibition was ignored. The showy gems ebbed in popularity during World War II, but came back with a bang around the middle of the 20th century, when cocktail parties took off once again, and the "Statement Ring", or "Cocktail Ring" has been going strong ever since!
This large, eye catching beauty is made of 14 karat yellow gold, with a central almandine garnet weighing .74 carats, surrounded by opals and more garnets. Beautifully set in a shank marked Germany, she will the most divine companion to wear as you mix and mingle with the best!
