The Georgian era is a period in British history from 1714 to c. 1830–37, named after the Hanoverian kings George I, George II, George III and George IV. The sub-period that is the Regency era is defined by the regency of George IV as Prince of Wales during the illness of his father George III.
During this period, the 'glove ring' was a prominent accessory for ladies. Originally, it was a trend that has been noted during the Renaissance where gloves were designed with a little opening at the finger to allow ones ring to poke through and be seen. Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian ladies wore the rings over the glove, hence the larger sizes.
This beautiful glove ring is set in ?K yellow gold, with a voluptuous natural bezel set pearl in the center. The shank has gorgeous detailing, contrasting with the serene orb. Classic, tasteful and sophisticated, she is everything you'd want in a pearl ring!
