Antique 9K, Seed Pearl & Mother of Pearl Weddingwork Necklace

A phenomenal pearl work or weddingwork necklace circa 1830. Pearlwork has recently become extremely desirable among collectors for its frothy, feminine aesthetic, and romantic history; pearl work pieces were often given as wedding gifts to new brides, hand made by loving, crafty family members, and later undertaken by expert jewelers. Each pearl has been fastened to the mother of pearl backing using blanched horsehair which has remained untouched and in perfect condition since the jewel was made. This necklace has a 9 karat gold clasp and comes with an antique box from Norfolk, England. This is not the original box, as it comes from a later date and does not make a perfect fit. However, it will keep your necklace safe! A gorgeous, ethereal piece that would be the crowning glory to any trousseau, and perfect for all of your most feminine fits!
Circa 1830
