SOLD Antique 9K, Amethyst, Seed Pearl & Aquamarine Pendant

Amethysts have been admired and incorporated in jewelry for centuries. The Ancient Greeks believed that the stone warded off intoxication and helped provide clarity of thought. Victorians loved this gem as well, using it in earrings, brooches, rings and of course, pendants! Since purple was accepted as a half-mourning color, it made this choice of gem quite popular, often accented with seed pearls.

This delicate pendant is crafted of 9 karat yellow gold. With a gorgeous leafy setting, it has the flowing lines associated with the Art Nouveau aesthetic. The large faceted amethyst stone glows from the center of the tendrils in gold, accented with seed pearls. A dangling pendant of aquamarine is attached at the bottom, adding more sparkle to this exquisite piece. A truly beautiful gem that will become a favorite in your collection!
