Antique 18K, Ruby & Pearl Forget Me Not Ring

The forget me not was a popular motif during the Victorian Era; jewelry with the design was given as tokens of love and friendship, as well as used in mourning pieces. This wonderful example is crafted in 18 karat yellow gold, with stunning feathered and scrolled repousse work on the shoulders and ring top. Six natural seed pearls form the petals, with a bright pink ruby holding court in the center. It has an open locket back, which probably held a lock of hair at one point in time. Delicate and feminine, it is a true treasure from days gone by!
