The Fleur de Lis, or “lily flower” is a design originating in France hundreds of years ago as a motif associated with royalty and nobility; being used in royal emblems, crests, and heraldic coat of arms. The stylized lily has three petals tied together and it is a popular design motif in art, culture, religion, architecture, and jewelry all over the world.
This classic fleur de lis brooch is made of 18 karat yellow gold, with a central diamond and accent emeralds. With hooks both at the top and bottom, it would have often been worn on a ribbon around the neck, with a pendant or drop hanging from the bottom. A wonderful piece that is still chic today!
