Antique 18K, Amethyst & Seed Pearl Earrings

Amethyst stones have been thought for generations to provide protection and were worn by the Ancients as a talisman for luck. The beautiful violet purple hue has also had an allure not to be resisted. Beloved by Victorians as well, it was the first color a widow was allowed to wear after coming out of mourning. Seed pearls were often incorporated into mourning and half-mourning jewelry, as they represented 'tears of sorrow'.

Crafted in 18 karat yellow gold, these gorgeous earrings have sparkling, pale purple amethyst stones haloed in tiny seed pearls. The pierced fittings have hinged safety latches, ensuring that they will stay on, no matter how many whirls around the ballroom you take!
