Gold-Bearing Quartz is one of the world's rarest forms of natural gold. It is found underground by hard rock miners in only a few locations in the world. This unique formation is being mined 1,500 to 2,500 feet below the earth's surface. The natural veins of gold were formed by hydrothermal pressure deep within the earth millions of years ago. The quartz comes in various colors and sometimes contains other minerals. Pearl white is considered the most desirable, and is most often used in jewelry. Gold is formed naturally in quartz deposits in the earth. When erosion takes place, exposed veins of gold break off and wash into rivers and streams. The natural movement of the water tumbles the gold against sand and rocks, forming the Natural Gold Nugget. This gives each nugget its texture, shape, and character. Gold purity varies from stream to stream, with the highest purity considered as rare as high carat diamonds.
