Antique 14K, Diamond & Pearl Starburst Brooch/Pendant With 12K Gold Filled Chain

Diamonds and pearls are a wonderful combination, and have been associated with purity and eternal love, making them a favorite gift during the 19th century for a bride to be. Worn proudly on her wedding day, she could cherish it for the rest of her life, and honor her marriage each time she wore it afterwards.

This precious brooch/pendant is made of 14 karat yellow gold, shaped in an undulating starburst design. With five radii, each containing five well matched graduated pearls, it is also interspersed with five pronged diamond arms, as well as a lovely sparkling diamond in the center. The reverse shows a safety catch which dates it to approximately 1910, or soon thereafter. We love the hinged bale, which can be hidden if worn as a brooch, providing appreciated versatility! This piece includes a gold filled chain, a later addition at some point, and is a generous 17 3/4" long. A beautiful jewel, to be worn with pride, and cherished forever in your collection!
