SOLD Antique 12K & Spinel Book Chain Bracelet Pair

Bracelets were wildly popular during the Victorian Era! Women would wear five or six on each arm, showing off their stylishness and putting this important accessory on display! Worn during the day on a bare wrist and over a glove in the evening, they were a must-have accessory. Wedding bracelets were worn by engaged ladies, often coming in a matching pair. They would be incorporated into the bracelet 'stack', or worn on their own.
Crafted in 12 karat yellow gold with spinel stones at the clasp elements, this bracelet pair has wonderful, chunky book chain links with alternating flower and diamond-shaped motif stations. The clasps are decorated with repousse work and a bright red gem, one with a round clasp and lover's knot design, while the other is fashioned into a puffy square. They can also be linked together to form a choker. A gorgeous duo you'll be sure to include in your favorites!
