Founded in 1759 by Josiah Wedgwood, the Wedgwood pottery company is still producing many of their original designs today. The familiar Jasper Ware, a white relief on a blue background is immediately recognizable and has often been referred to as "Wedgwood Blue".
A wonderful little work of art depicting two cherubs playing musical instruments with a female figure watching over. The fondness for the blue and white color combination as well as Classical forms carried over well into the twentieth century, A charming and special piece, perfect for any music lover, it will be cherished for generations to come!
