Antique 14K & Hand Painted Enamel Locket/Pendant

A charming and enduring trend from the Victorian Era was the custom of the Language of Flowers, wherein every blossom and leaf imaginable held secret meaning. It was so commonly practiced that floral messages were incorporated into jewelry, with our locket serving as such an example.

Crafted in 14 karat yellow gold, a colorful bouquet in a jardiniere rests atop a bright turquoise background. The featured flowers include pink roses, meaning 'bashful love' as well as purple, blue and red cosmos meaning 'joy in love and life'. Beautifully executed and well loved, we have had some of the enamel restored by an expert. The locket has that satisfying click we all desire, and is the perfect treasure to hold any little secret mementos you may have!
