The era we now know as “Art Deco” received its moniker from the Exposition International des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes, held in Paris in 1925, which was largely dedicated to the jewelry arts. Emphasis was placed on the association of art and modern industry. The style was also utilized in architecture, where rectangular blocky forms were often arranged in a geometric fashion, then broken up by curved ornamental elements. But always the aim was a monolithic appearance with applied decorative motifs. It was especially successful in apartment buildings and skyscrapers.
Much like an Art Deco grill or fence, the gold work on this ring has a balanced, decorative appeal. With a deep, bright blue sapphire gazing from the middle, it's the perfect ring to wear day to day, as you know it will always be in style!
