In 1917, David Belais of Belais Brothers submitted his special formula of white gold; the patent was applied for in October of 1918, and approved in 1920. The Belais alloy became so popular, that during the 1920s, white gold was sometimes referred to as “Belais metal.” 

This sleek Art Deco ring has beautiful white gold shoulders, emphasizing the sleek lines and geometric shapes favored during the era. The diamond of over half a carat shines like a spotlight from the ring face, while two deep blue sapphires stand sentry on the side of the ring shank.
