Antique paste stones took quite a lot of skill to produce and became very popular, with Marie Antoinette appointing a specific craftsman to make the jewels for her Court. The use of paste remained common in fine jewelry, with Georgians and Victorians preferring to travel with less valuable adornments, as highway robbery was common. It was not unusual to mix these paste stones with precious, and this piece is a beautiful example!

Crafted in silver, it has beautifully set pink paste stones sparkling in a rosette design. Accented with bright green tourmalines and natural seed pearls, it has a terribly fancy feel! Five darts dangle from the base, enameled with a black and white polka dot pattern. The back reveals a glass covered locket, perfect for your favorite keepsake or photo. Over the top and very girly, you'll find yourself flirting uncontrollably when wearing this beauty!

French; Circa early 19th century
