The era we now know as “Art Deco” received its moniker from the Exposition International des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes, held in Paris in 1925, which was largely dedicated to the jewelry arts. Emphasis was placed on the association of art and modern industry. The style was also utilized in architecture, where rectangular blocky forms were often arranged in a geometric fashion, then broken up by curved ornamental elements. But always the aim was a monolithic appearance with applied decorative motifs. It was especially successful in apartment buildings and skyscrapers.
Crafted in 18 karat white gold and platinum, this French ring has a beautiful glittering diamond in the center, with fourteen accents diamonds and a stripe of bright blue sapphires down the middle. Thoroughly modern when it was made, it still has a contemporary flair that will make you feel like a style icon every time you wear it!
