The era we now know as “Art Deco” received its moniker from the Exposition International des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes, held in Paris in 1925, which was largely dedicated to the jewelry arts. Emphasis was placed on the association of art and modern industry. Often, lab created gems were utilized in the pieces. The technology and novelty were appealing to jewelry collectors, who desired to be thoroughly modern in all aspects of life. The Art Deco era continued well into the 1930s and 40s, but the sleek style has never gone out of fashion.
This circa 1930s ring features a deep blue sapphire and two diamonds set in 14 karat yellow and white gold. The shank has hints of another design fad to come: Retro! A great ring for any sex, and any occasion, you will hear the siren calling to you every day!
