SOLD Antique 12K, Pearl & Foiled Quartz Locket Back Pendant

This gorgeous foiled quartz crystal pendant encircled by buttery 12K gold is an absolute eye-catcher. As an archaeological revival piece, it was inspired in or around 1870 by discoveries of Egyptian, Roman, Hellenistic, and Etruscan ancient precious jewels. This inspiration provides us with the beautiful golden pearl encrusted star highlighting the bold center crystal with pink foil at the base which lends the crystal its enchanting color. Its central high dome is embellished with a gold starburst, set with a floral pearl motif. A band of black enamel indicates mourning while serving as excellent contrast to the bright pink hue of the foiled quartz. The outer gold halo is decorated with delicate wirework emblematic of the Archeological Revival and a lavish ring of well-matched seed pearls. In the back is a glass window with black fabric, perfect for keeping your own special treasure. The bale, an homage to Egyptian lily designs, has graduated boules, leaving no detail left to be desired! A truly magnificent piece that will take center stage in any collection!
