Antique 10K, Amethyst & Seed Pearl Brooch

This uniquely diamond-shaped brooch features a beautifully clear, pale purple amethyst stone, outlined by natural seed pearls and set simply in 10 karat yellow gold.

Amethysts were popular choices during the Victorian Era, as it was a colored stone permitted during a lady's period of half-mourning, throughout widowhood, as well as deemed appropriate for unmarried ladies. The seed pearls were worn to symbolize 'tears of sorrow', but also added a pleasingly decorative accent. Such a beautiful color and gem combination, it's no wonder that it has remained a favorite!
